The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman has announced the completion of all its preparations for the holy month of Ramadan. The Department will work to continue providing its services at the announced times, and will intensify inspection campaigns on food establishments in the emirate, all sales outlets, shopping centers, restaurants, popular kitchens, food factories, sweet shops and bakeries.
Comprehensive Control
The Department indicated that it regularly ensures that all food establishments are fully covered and subjected to continuous control and inspection throughout the holy month of Ramadan, which sees constant movement around the clock and an increase in the pace of commercial activity, as part of the constant quest to preserve consumer’s health and safety and to ensure provision of safe and healthy food for all in the Emirate.
The Department continued that the management and follow-up of inspection and control processes are carried out in accordance with best international practices and accreditations in the field of food safety to ensure the effectiveness of inspections by using the latest systems and advanced inspection equipment. The Department started its preparations this year with a number of inspection campaigns of food and public health-related institutions to ensure they commit to health requirements, and carried out 2,221 inspection visits during 2023, using the smart inspection system.
The Department explained that food supplies imported through Ajman Port will continue to ensure the normal flow of food to the Emirate, as the month of Ramadan sees an increase in food imports of various food items, which are examined and inspected at the Department’s inspection facilities in Ajman Port according to the best practices by qualified inspection teams in partnership with the Department’s strategic partners.
Service Centers
The Department said that service centers will open to public from 9 AM to 2:30 PM, from Monday to Thursday, and will provide their services on Friday from 9AM to 12PM.
Abattoir ready
The Department confirmed that Ajman Central Abattoir and Manama abattoir are equipped to receive public during the regular working hours, which extend from 9 AM to 2:30 PM from Monday to Thursday and from 9 AM to 12 PM on Friday. Â Ajman Abattoir and Manama will open from 9 AM to 1:30 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Department indicated the working hours in Masfout Abattoir, which will open to visitors from 9 AM to 4:00 PM from Saturday to Thursday, and will open on Friday during two shifts, the first extending from 9 AM to 12 PM, and the second extending from 2 PM to 4 PM.
Paid Parking
The Department noted the hours of operation of paid parking lots during the holy month of Ramadan, which extends from 9 AM to 1 PM and from 8 PM to 12 AM throughout the week, except for Friday and public holidays.
Emirate Parks
The Department reviewed the working hours of the parks, which will open every day of the week to all from four 4 PM to 1 AM.
