His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman, conducted an inspection of the project’s progress, whose completion reached 90%. This initiative is part of the Department’s commitment to align with the emirate’s urban growth and to implement the recommendations outlined in the Ajman Urban Plan 2040, which aims to enhance the quality of life for residents.
During the site visit, His Highness was accompanied by His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department, Dr. Eng Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector, Dr. Engineer Alia Majlad Al Shamsi, Project Director, along with the project team and several experts.
His Highness emphasized that Ajman is an exemplary emirate for living, tourism, and investment. Under the guidance of its wise leadership, the emirate strives to provide all elements of luxury and happiness for its residents and visitors. He noted that the beach development project is among the most significant initiatives aimed at creating an ideal natural space for the community.
Furthermore, His Highness highlighted that the project seeks to increase the usable area and expand green spaces, in addition to constructing wave breakers and enhancing the beach through the addition of approximately 3 million cubic meters of marine sand.
A total beach area of 220,000 square meters
His Highness expressed his appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the skilled team that developed a comprehensive and cohesive plan aimed at achieving optimal outcomes. A key highlight of this plan is the expansion of the beach area by 165,000 square meters, resulting in a total of 220,000 square meters, alongside the provision of green spaces covering approximately 300,000 square meters.
2500 LM bicycle path
Dr. Mohammed bin Omair provided His Highness with an in-depth overview of the project’s phases and objectives, emphasizing its role in nurturing sports talent and promoting an active lifestyle. The project features a sports walkway and a bicycle path extending 2,500 meters, complemented by green areas along the Corniche.
Dr. Bin Omair further noted that the Department successfully completed the first and second phases of the project, with the final phase expected to be finished by March of the current year. Landscaping efforts will continue, with an anticipated completion date set for August 2025.
