Rashid bin Humaid Ramadan Majlis in Ajman reviews family role in strengthening community cohesion

The Rashid bin Humaid Ramadan Majlis in Ajman organized a session themed “Compassion and Partnership for the Future,” which tackled the importance of the family’s role in building a cohesive community. The session saw the presence of Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, Colonel Dr. Ahmed Subaian Al Tunaiji, Director of the Federal Social Support Department at the Ministry of Interior, and a host of specialists and experts.

 

The session, moderated by media figure Marwan Al Shehhi, discussed a myriad of important topics, most notably policies and initiatives that support the stability of the Emirati family, coinciding with the “Year of Community” Initiative, and promoting the community engagement culture.

 

It also highlighted the  importance of social responsibility and the role of institutions, as well as empowering community groups, supporting youth, and the role of senior citizens and people of determination to enhance their active participation in society.

 

It also highlighted the Emirati family and its role in building and sustaining society, in line with the integrated efforts made in this area and in alignment with national directives.

 

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), opened the meeting with a speech in which he emphasized that the “Year of Community” embodies the wise leadership’s vision to strengthen cohesion and cement authentic societal values, especially as it embraces more than 200 nationalities. This evidences the values ​​of social cohesion and justice, reflecting the UAE’s vision of empowering society based on a strong and cohesive community.

 

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid noted the importance of social responsibility owed to the UAE’s citizens and residents, with the aim of enhancing and sustaining national identity as part of the individual’s efforts before the state’s, in order to promote stability, cohesion, and development of community, and empower all its members.

 

Her Excellency Hessa Buhumaid highlighted the UAE’s initiatives, most notably the Year of Sustainability 2024, then the Year of Community 2025, which focuses on strong family and community bonds. in line with the UAE Centennial 2071, a comprehensive, long-term 5-decade vision. Buhumaid stressed the essential role of the family in building a cohesive and sustainable society, and the necessity to provide integrated support that enhances the stability of Emirati families and enables them to confidently address challenges for sustainable and comprehensive community development.

 

The UAE enjoys a strong and sustainable system based on the law and social justice for all residents, Her Excellency explained, pointing to the exceptional initiatives that play great part in empowering the younger generations and enhancing their social and economic stability.

 

Her Excellency noted the government’s diverse initiatives that care for people and are based on three elements: innovation, speed, and positive impact; Dubai Weddings and the Dubai Iftar for more than 1000 people of various cultures and religions under the Al Wasl Dome at Expo City Dubai.

 

For his part, Colonel Dr. Ahmed Subaian Al Tunaiji touched upon social and national security and the impact of family stability on this, noting the importance of promoting the concepts of tolerance and mutual respect among members of society, especially as there are more than 200 nationalities representing diverse cultures and religions within the UAE.

 

He asserted that family is the nucleus of society and plays an important role in monitoring children, improving their behavior, and confronting any community-affecting challenges, as national security is linked to family stability. He praised the wise leadership’s Year of Community Initiative, in addition to a number of government portfolios, such as the Ministry of Community Empowerment, as well as the laws, legislation, and family consultations that keep the family unit and community cohesion.
