The Rashid bin Humaid Ramadan Majlis held its third session dubbed “Advanced Technology and Cybersecurity”, under the patronage His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) and in his presence, with the participation of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council, and His Excellency Shehab Issa Abu Shehab, Director General of the Advanced Technology Research Council, and in the presence of experts, thinkers and decision-makers.
His Highness, at the beginning of the session, welcomed the attendees, saying that the Majlis organized its third session to discuss a highly vital and important topic affecting all aspects of life. His Highness stressed that the United Arab Emirates has wise leadership with ambitious and great aspirations and strives to achieve qualitative goals, a matter which necessitates strong systems and safe infrastructure, both constituting the most important factors for progress and excellence.
His Highness said that the State established the Cybersecurity Council, making a qualitative leap in integrated systems to protect institutions, government agencies, private sector companies and individuals, stressing that creating a secure system plays big part in ensuring leadership of a safe and stable economy.
The session was moderated by TV Presenter Marwan Al Shehhi, who underscored the role of full preparedness to protect infrastructure, and the necessity of intensifying all efforts to achieve the best results.
Everyone is cybersecurity first line of defense
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al-Kuwaiti spoke about the importance of cybersecurity in confronting cybercrime, cyberterrorism and cyberwars, to ensure infrastructure sovereignty.
His Excellency went on talking about the components of cybersecurity, including governance, policies and procedures, investment in important fields, creativity, and activating partnerships with countries and entities, in addition to protection and defense, emphasizing that every individual constitutes a first line of defense in cybersecurity.
His Excellency said that activating the digital system and employing artificial intelligence contributed to repressing cyber threats and daily attacks, achieving the best results in maintaining the confidentiality, security and privacy of national data.
Reinforcing research and development sector
For his part, His Excellency Shehab Issa Abu Shehab touched upon the role of the Advanced Technology Research Council in formulating the research and development strategy and supporting the development of innovation and the knowledge-based economy.
The Center emphasizes its full commitment to building a future rich in experiences and opportunities, with the aim to achieve success and sustainable development, and to consolidate cooperation and mutual coordination with entities and institutions, His Excellency added.
The Council never stops working on formulating strong and solid frameworks for action with the Cybersecurity Council in the field of encryption and cybersecurity, geared towards enhancing the persistent positive impact and preserving secure future in light of digital development, His Excellency noted.

The session eyed great interaction from the attendees, who spoke highly of the diligent work of the entities to unify efforts designed to build a global information society that takes part in reinforcing the level of security and privacy, and to find effective solutions to deter the increased cyber dangers that threaten various aspects of our lives and our privacy.
