Rashid bin Humaid Council opened its first Ramadan session with a session titled “Community Month in the Year of Community”, in presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, His Excellency Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, His Eminence Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad, Grand Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and His Excellency Ahmed Rashid Saeed Al Neyadi, Director General of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat.
At the beginning of the session, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi announced the launch of the Ramadan Council for the year 2025, which is a platform for purposeful dialogue and fruitful communication with thinkers, scholars and knowledgeable people, especially in the month of Ramadan, during which seasons of goodness, knowledge platforms and forums for exchanging thoughts and opinions happen again and again.
He stressed that the Ramadan Session shed light on a number of the authentic societal values ​​of the UAE community, which coincided with the Year of the Community, and that the Holy Month of Ramadan is considered an excellent opportunity to enhance these authentic values ​​in younger generations.
For his part, H.E. Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei praised Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Council, which combines thought and faith in the Holy Month, and coincided with the announcement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may Allah protect him”, that this year as the Year of the Community, an initiative that brings together the efforts of all State institutions to enrich this Year with faith and societal topics to motivate community members to promote the human values ​​on which the UAE community was raised.
He added that the councils in the State are full of remembrance of Allah and call for principles of being pure and loving each as authentic societal values ​​within the UAE community.
For his part, His Eminence Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad said that the UAE naming 2025 as the “Year of Community”, which coincides with the attention paid by Islamic Sharia Law to the positive relationship between the servant and his Lord and between the individual and community, stressing that fasting was decreed for this social concept, in addition that fasting reveals a number of rights among members of society.
He explained that the Quranic texts and the hadiths emphasized that the fasting is a worship connotes that emphasize the values ​​of brotherhood, compassion and solidarity among members of community, pointing out that choosing the Year of Community primarily aims to being compassionate to others and working on shared social responsibility.
