The Public Health Department and the Central Laboratories Department at the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA_ participated in the 18th Dubai International Food Safety Conference (DIFSC) dubbed “Future Foresight in Food Safety”, which eyed the participation of more than 3,000 food safety experts and specialists from most countries of the world, discussing proactive approaches in addressing emerging challenges in the way of the global food sector, and the urgent need to provide sustainable and innovative solutions that ensure the security and sustainability of food systems in the future.
In this connection, Eng. Khalid Moeen Al Hosani, the MPDA’s Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, noted the MPDA’s keenness to be present at the conference, with its prestigious global position, through a platform for specialists, research institutions and international organizations operating in the food sector to exchange ideas and innovations, and benefit from the most prominent experiences in the field of food safety. The qualified cadres worked to familiarize visitors with the procedures followed in field inspection, and presented the achievements of the Public Health Department and the Ajman Public Health Program, along with developing the management of central laboratories through the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) project.
Eng. Al Hosani said that the MPDA’s platform received partners in the State’s regulatory authorities, and a host of specialists and experts participating in the conference from outside the State, providing an explanation of the efforts made to maintain food safety.
The MPDA’s platform saw a large turnout from visitors over the days of the exhibition, who praised the tireless work to provide sustainable and innovative solutions that ensure the security and sustainability of food systems in the future.
It is noteworthy that the MPDA recorded the visit of more than 161 participants, partners and international visitors, who voiced their happiness with visiting the platform, and their happiness rate rose to 97% in 2024, while it was 95% in 2023, and they voiced their desire for the platform to be present in the coming years by 100%.
