The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) received a delegation from the Ministry of Interior (MOI) as part of the methodology of mutual visits, to review the best services and practices adopted in spatial information systems at the MPDA, achieving the best results, and ensuring ideal services to community.
Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, the MPDA’s Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector, welcomed the delegation headed by the Academy of Police Sciences and Technology lecturer, His Excellency L.t. Colonel Mustafa Mohammed Al Hammadi, Deputy Director of the Emirates Biomedical Research Center, in the presence of Aisha Al Tunaiji, Director of the Spatial Information Systems Department, and specialists and experts of the MPDA. Al Muhairi voiced his pride in strengthening partnerships with all specialized entities in the state.
The MPDA adopts best practices in the work of the Spatial Information Systems Department to enhance the geospatial approach, by collecting, updating and correcting geographic, providing holistic data to internal and external customers and partners, and enhancing the compliance of geospatial data as per the approved local and international standards, Al Muhairi noted.
Al Muhairi added that work never stops to improve and develop geospatial systems, programs and databases, prepare statistics, studies and geographic data, and launch qualitative projects in the vital field.
The meeting stressed the importance of spatial data and its role in planning all infrastructure operations. It discussed the addressing and numbering project, which played great part in better and more comprehensive speeding delivery of services in light of recent developments in the fields of service delivery to the population.
For his part, His Excellency L.t. Colonel Mustafa Al Hammadi appreciated the MPDA’s cooperation and its keenness to document mutual coordination and share the best experiences that enrich the work and achieve the goals desired.
