The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) organized an engineering retreat themed “Towards Flexible & Sustainable Road Network: Enhancing Accessibility & Mobility In Ajman”, in the presence of His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the MPDA, and Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector at the MPDA, in addition to representatives of the community, including Her Excellency Afra bin Hindi, Eng. Mohammed Ahmed Al Awadhi, Mr. Mohammed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Mr. Salem Al Mannai, and Mr. Hamid Bu Ajil, to develop innovative solutions to infrastructure challenges and sustainable urban planning, ensuring the improvement of life quality in the city, and providing an advanced urban environment that considers the needs of society and the future of upcoming generations.
In this vein, Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Omair stressed that the engineering retreat serves as an extension of the retreats organized by the MPDA over the past years to discuss vital topics and enhance the role of society in developing appropriate solutions, referring to the MPDA’s integrated plan to cover all topics that affect society.
Continuous Improvement
Dr. Eng. Bin Omair said that work does not stop to continue sustainable improvement in qualitative areas, including developing an integrated infrastructure, addressing all challenges and finding qualitative solutions, explaining that the Emirate of Ajman has become a model of leadership in the vital sector, and has succeeded to create a wide network of vital roads characterized by smooth traffic and accommodation of the constant movement around the clock, and we are still intensifying efforts to identify needs, meet requirements and achieve beyond-expectation results.
Qualitative Ideas
Dr. Eng. Bin Omair voiced his pride in the retreat that brings together leaders, engineers, ambitious competencies and members of society to attract bright ideas and transform them into realistic projects. The retreats will continue during the coming period and for different groups from segments of society to ensure that their needs are included in future projects and initiatives, as everyone works hand in hand and intensifies efforts to advance the Emirate and provide a happy and dignified life for residents, and provide an ideal environment for investment in myriad areas.
It is noteworthy that the retreat discussed a myriad of topics; the flexible infrastructure for crises and disasters, means of enhancing ease of movement, and formulating ambitious targets to reduce congestion. The retreat also eyed great interaction from the attendees, who presented a number of positive proposals and ideas that will be studied and included in the MPDA’s projects and initiatives in the areas of infrastructure development.
