The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) honored 20 public and private entities that played a pivotal role in the success of the “Innovation Month 2025”, in a closing ceremony held at the Ajman X Center.
In this context, Dr. Engineer Khaled Maeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the MPDA’s Public Health and Environment Sector, voiced his pride in the tangible results achieved thanks to the collaborative efforts of all participating departments and institutions, which made significant contributions and accomplished remarkable milestones to accelerate sustainable development and achieve leadership across various fields. Innovation has now become an essential part of the operational framework and daily life within the MPDA, having been integrated across all fields and sectors to achieve optimal outcomes, Dr. Al Hosani affirmed.
Dr. Al Hosani elaborated that the Innovation Month eyed the implementation of over 60 innovative events, including 20 workshops and laboratories, as well as 5 panel discussions, in line with the comprehensive plan devised by the MPDA to continue investing in innovation to attain excellence in diverse domains.
He further noted that the events were organized across 5 main platforms, which included the Global Innovation Summit, the Ajman Government Innovation Platform at Al Safia Park, the Ajman X Center, the Municipality of Manama, and the Municipality of Masfoot. These platforms garnered significant community participation, attracting more than 2,000 individuals and resulting in 1,500 developmental ideas.
Distinguished Departments in Innovation
Dr. Al Hosani praised the efforts of the departments that enriched the Month with their exceptional participation, showcasing the diligent work of 12 departments in the field of innovation, the use of modern technologies, and artificial intelligence, as well as employing optimal methods to ensure quality and efficiency in work, delivering exemplary services to the community.
Positive Outcomes
For her part, Sheikha Dr. Noura Hamid Al Nuaimi, Innovation Advisor and Director of the Ajman X Center, and Chairwoman of the MPDA’s Innovation Month 2025 Committee, stated that the MPDA successfully launched 5 smart projects, alongside organizing interactive workshops, panel discussions, and innovation laboratories in collaboration with public and private entities, as well as academic and community institutions. She added that these events epitomize the spirit of innovation to provide qualitative solutions that contribute to enhancing services, improving quality of life, and supporting sustainable development and social transformations across various sectors.
Wrapping up the ceremony, distinguished entities were awarded the “Leading Administration” trophy under the Department Innovation Day initiative in its third edition, in recognition of their excellence in applying innovation concepts and enhancing institutional processes.
The Department of Agriculture and Public Gardens secured first place, followed by the Department of Spatial Information in second, the Department of Smart Services Development in third, the Municipality of Manama in fourth, and the Department of Service Centers in fifth place.
Additionally, departments that demonstrated significant improvements in their innovative performance were also honored, namely: the Department of Environment and Development, the Department of Projects and Business Development, the Department of Buildings, the Department of Central Laboratories, the Municipality of Masfoot, the Department of Financial Affairs, and the Department of Communication and Community, for their efforts in launching qualitative initiatives that contribute to enhancing service quality and achieving institutional excellence.
The honoring also extended to participating entities, strategic partners, and work teams that played a crucial role in the success of the UAE Innovation Month 2025 events, reinforcing the importance of partnership and collaboration in supporting the journey of governmental innovation.
