His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), stressed that Flag Day is a dear national occasion celebrated every year by the people of the United Arab Emirates for the profound connotations and lofty values and a sincere expression of the unity of the nation and the strength of its union carried by the flag of the state.
His Excellency said, “On the Flag Day, we recall the immortal journey initiated by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the founding fathers, who built this lofty nation with their sweat, effort and thought and instilled in its people the love of the nation and sacrifice for it.”
His Excellency added, “The Flag Day is an occasion to renew homage to our wise leadership, and to work hard to carry forward the blessed journey led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may Allah protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may Allah protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Their Highnesses the members of the Supreme Council of the Union, Rulers of the Emirates, may Allah protect them.”
“Our flag is our pride and glory, raised by all loyal Emiratis to their country and those who reside on this land, as an expression of love for the homeland and pride in it because it is a symbol of national identity, pride, peace and security, and embodies the cohesion between the leadership and the people,” His Excellency wrapped up.
