Advanced devices for health control services

The Central Laboratories Department includes a host of modern devices designed to meet the needs of various laboratory tests in the departments of the Food Laboratory, the Environmental Laboratory, and the Building Materials Laboratory. These devices include state-of-the-art technologies for detecting heavy metals, harmful chemicals in foods, examining allergens, genetically-modified foods, and viruses transmitted through food. The devices also enable the analysis of food components such as protein, fats and starches with high accuracy, a matter which enhances the reliability of laboratory results and supports public health protection efforts.

The Building Materials Laboratory enhances the role of the MPDA in supporting infrastructure development projects in Ajman, including strategic projects related to advanced infrastructure and sustainable construction, reflecting the MPDA’s commitment to providing services supportive of the building of an advanced and safe society. The Laboratory also contributes to supporting the control of imported foods, in parallel with the UAE’s directions to examine pesticide residues in food imported to the country and Publicly traded and produced on farms, which enhances the protection of public health and the safety of food products.

The MPDA continues to harness the latest devices to detect pesticide residues in agricultural products. As part of its integrated efforts, the Laboratory pays special attention to veterinary medicines, as laboratory tests take part in ensuring the safety of animal products and meeting the highest standards of health control on imported foods, which enhances food quality and supports the health and safety of consumers.

The Central Laboratories Department is a leading laboratory testing facility, and is relied upon to test food, water, building materials and consumer products, ensuring adherence to the highest safety and quality standards. The public can also submit services through the MPDA’s available e-services.
