The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman has announced the release of its 2024 Fact Sheet, which serves as a documented reference for the Department’s accomplishments, projects, indicators, significant initiatives, and local, regional, and international awards.
In this context, His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department, emphasized that the Department is committed to engaging the community along with all entities, institutions, and stakeholders and keep them informed about media messages. He also highlighted the Department’s relentless efforts to establish an integrated infrastructure, and its dedication to promoting public health, safeguarding the environment and its resources, and utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance operations and ensuring efficiency and continuity in alignment with the quality of life and the happiness of the community.
100% General Happiness Index achieved
His Excellency further stated that the Department has made significant strides in crucial areas, aiming to foster happiness among residents and achieve the ambitious target of a 100% General Happiness Index. Notably, the General Happiness Index for services has reached 100%, and the happiness index for the service center environment has also recorded a perfect score of 100%.
Integrated Infrastructure Development
His Excellency also mentioned that the Department is implementing an integrated and comprehensive plan to develop integrated infrastructure, ensuring harmony between infrastructure components and residential areas while promoting sustainable growth in the building and construction sector. He outlined key strategic indicators, noting that the total length of paved roads has reached 1,160,060 linear meters, and urban development has accounted for 59.26% of the emirate’s total area.
Health and Environment
His Excellency emphasized the dedicated efforts made to safeguard community health, conserve valuable resources, improve water and air quality, and expand green spaces. He highlighted the strategic indicators in this area, noting that the percentage of recycled liquid waste achieved 100%. In line with the commitment to establish natural parks, the total area of green spaces reached 2,349,480 square meters last year.
Furthermore, His Excellency mentioned that the Department successfully completed numerous projects across various sectors in the past year, earning several local, regional, and international awards. He reiterated that the Department remains committed to its relentless pursuit of excellence in serving the community.
