H.E. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, the Director-General of the Municipality & Planning Department – Ajman, received the financial quality certification, MSI 20000, from the French organization, COFICERT, in appreciation of the Department’s passing of global evaluation in the fields of financial performance quality, governance, disclosure and transparency, to become the Emirate’s first government authority to be awarded such prestigious certification.
His Excellency said: “This certification is a significant achievement that reflects the Department’s deep commitment to the implementation of the highest standards of financial performance quality and transparency. Being awarded such certification enhances the Department’s position and reflects its leadership in the attainment of competitiveness in the government sector on the UAE’s level.” He emphasized: “This achievement has taken place thanks to the Department’s intensive efforts to ensure the implementation of the best standards of financial performance, in line with the highest global standards.”
His Excellency added: “This certificate is a fruit of the Department’s ongoing efforts in the implementation of the best financial practices, as the global evaluation has demonstrated the Department’s excellence in the implementation of the international financial standards of financial performance and disclosure.” He noted: “The Department will continue to uphold such standards and improve financial performance to ensure its ongoing success and excellence in the future.”
From his side, Mr. Abdul Rauf Mahmoud, the Department’s Director of Financial Affairs Department, stated: “This achievement has been realized thanks to the hard work of the Department’s financial action team, as focus was given to the enhancement of financial robustness and the attainment of an outstanding financial performance.” He emphasized: “The findings of the global evaluation have demonstrated that the Department is going on in the right path of financial excellence, according to the highest international standards.”
Abdul Rauf added: “This honor is an evidence for the Department’s ongoing excellence in the fields of financial and administrative governance, as a comprehensive review of financial performance was conducted according to global standards, demonstrating outstanding results in the standard comparisons of the public sector.”
This certification is a significant addition to the Department’s record, as it contributes to solidifying its position as a pioneer in the implementation of global financial standards, a thing which offers the Department further opportunities for development and growth in the future.
