The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman has announced the completion of the expansion project for Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Street, in the area extending between Sheikh Ammar Street and Al Hamidiya Street in Al Jurf area. The expansion included adding one additional lane in each direction, bringing the street to a total of three lanes in each direction. The aim is to enhance traffic flow, improve service levels on the street, and at its intersections. The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman aims to develop an integrated infrastructure that links infrastructure elements and residential communities, while also promoting balanced urban development within the Emirate.
Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, the Executive Director of the Department’s Infrastructure Development Sector, confirmed that the completion of the project exemplifies the department’s commitment to executing developmental projects that enhance the quality of infrastructure within the emirate, in support of Ajman Vision 2030 and in alignment with the leadership’s aspirations for comprehensive and sustainable development.
The Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector stated that the new expansion of the street has significantly contributed to improving traffic flow and reducing congestion in the area, especially as it experiences high traffic volume throughout the day. This project is part of the department’s continuous efforts to enhance the road network within the emirate and meet the needs of residents and visitors.
Dr. Al-Muhairi added that the project was carried out in accordance with the highest standards of quality and safety, ensuring the smooth flow of traffic during the construction phases. He also pointed out that the street is now ready to accommodate the increasing traffic density, achieving the intended objectives of facilitating mobility and enhancing the efficiency of the road network.
The department continues its efforts to develop and improve the infrastructure within the emirate, contributing to facilitating traffic movement that aligns with societal needs, exemplifying its continuous commitment to creating a developed environment that meets the aspirations of the residents and visitors of the emirate.
