The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman signed today a Memorandum of Understanding with the Global Innovation Institute (GINI) in Dubai Sustainable City, as part of the activities of the World Innovation Summit. The Agreement was signed within the framework of mutual keenness to enhance technical and technological cooperation and unify efforts between the two parties in a manner that serves the quality policies and excellence systems adopted by the Government of Ajman.
The Memorandum was signed by His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman, on behalf of the Municipality Department, and it was signed by Mr. Anthony Mills, Director General of the Global Innovation Institute, on behalf of the Institute, in presence of a number of officials and experts from both sides.
The Memorandum aims to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of innovation and government work, with a focus on disseminating knowledge and promoting innovation in institutional work, and thus contributing to achieving the strategy of the Government of Ajman. The Memorandum also contains the exchange of studies and research, and enhancing the quality of institutional work between both parties to achieve the best results.
His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi stressed that the signing of this Memorandum comes within the framework of strengthening bridges of cooperation with leading entities in the fields of innovation. Further, he pointed out to deriving benefit from the Institute’s expertise in testing certified trainers and evaluators to provide training programs at the Ajman X Center, in addition to benefiting from the Institute’s consultations in developing government work according to the best international practices.
For his part, Mr. Anthony Mills expressed his pride in this strategic cooperation, commending the partnership that supports means of joint cooperation between both parties, including that Ajman Municipality benefits from the Institute’s expertise in training university students in the field of innovation, and holding exams for certificates accredited by the Institute.
In the context of the World Innovation Summit, Sheikha Dr. Noura Humaid Al Nuaimi, Director of the Ajman X Center of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, participated in a discussion entitled “Innovation in Government”, where she discussed ways to integrate innovation into government work and its impact on developing services and improving the customer experience. The discussion was attended by a number of experts and stakeholders in the fields of innovation and modern technologies, which highlights the commitment of the Ajman Government to promoting innovation in its various sectors.
The Memorandum includes implementing joint initiatives in the fields of innovation and future technologies, exchanging knowledge and expertise, in addition to participating in events and conferences organized or sponsored by the two parties in the field of innovation.
