His Excellency Abdul-Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), inspected the progress of work on myriad development projects in the Emirate.
His Excellency visited the project sites, accompanied by Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, the MPDA’s Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector, Eng. Abdullah Mostafa Al Marzouqi, the MPDA’s Director of the Roads and Infrastructure Department, along with a host of officials and specialists.
Al Salam Street Development
His Excellency began the tour by reviewing the latest developments in the Al Salam Street development project, which the MPDA is working to finish, with three lanes in each direction, along with the construction of a rainwater drainage network, lighting poles, service routes on both directions, in addition to service protection works.
His Excellency urged the competent cadres to continue working to complete the project in full, hailing the efforts being made at full speed, as the completion rate reached 20% and the project is expected to complete during the third quarter of 2025.
Al Helio’s Sheikh Zayed Street Development
His Excellency also inspected the progress of work on developing Sheikh Zayed Street to become three lanes on each direction, with the construction of two intersections with traffic signals, the construction of a rainwater drainage network, lighting poles, service routes on both directions, in addition to service protection works. Completion rate reached 19% and the project is expected to complete during the third quarter of 2025.
His Excellency noted that Sheikh Zayed Street is one of the vital streets in the Emirate. Accordingly, the MPDA decided to carry out the important project to maintain traffic flow and increase capacity of vehicles on the street, given the continuous movement around the clock.
Increasing Beach Area in Ajman Corniche Beach Development Project
His Excellency wrapped up his field visit tour by reviewing the progress of work in the Ajman Corniche Beach Development Project, with 60% completion, geared towards enhancing the aesthetic value of the current beach, providing appropriate coastal defense and increasing greeneries in the most important natural breathing spaces in Ajman.
Giving a detailed explanation to His Excellency about the project, Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Omair noted that work is currently underway to complete the remaining works, including the northern and central breakwater, in addition to increasing the beach area by 165 thousand square meters, bringing the total to 220 thousand square meters.
Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Omair added that the project will be fully completed in March 2025, providing new green spaces of about 300,000 square meters. The project, which costs 150 million dirhams, is in line with the ambitious vision of the Emirate of Ajman, which seeks sustainable improvement and upgrading of its important natural landmarks to be an attraction for the economy, investment, tourism, happiness and optimal living, and is in line with the strategic urban plan of the Emirate of Ajman 2040 in various sectors and aspects of life, he added.
