His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), inspected the progress of work on myriad agricultural projects being implemented, as part of the MPDA’s integrated plan to increase green areas and in line with the vision geared towards cultivating 5% of the total area of ​​the Emirate of Ajman.
During his field tour, His Excellency was accompanied by Dr. Eng. Khalid Moeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, Mr. Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Public Parks, and a number of the MPDA’s agricultural experts, specialists and engineers.
His Excellency voiced his pride in the accomplishments made in this vital sector, as the green spaces in the Emirate of Ajman totaled up 2,349,480 square meters according to the MPDA’s 2024 report, as part of the 24/7 efforts and ambitious plans to finish integrated and comprehensive projects extending across the Emirate, noting that Ajman has today become one of the green cities that adopt agriculture as a work and life approach and never stops its efforts to ensure life quality and society happiness.
In this vein, His Excellency asserted that the ambitious cadres at the Department of Agriculture and Public Parks has managed to complete several agricultural projects represented in public parks, beautification and afforestation of streets and vital areas, and opening residential neighborhood parks, which contributed to raising the community happiness index, especially for children, by providing a natural outlet with recreational elements.
For his part, Mr. Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Public Parks, provided an explanation to His Excellency about the now-and-then projects for greening and increasing the green cover, adding that the Emirate’s parks have received many local and international awards for their distinction in providing the elements of happiness and well-being for all segments of society, most notably the category of people of determination, and the MPDA looks forward to providing the best and launching positive projects.
