The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman, alongside the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, has conducted a supervisory campaign on various veterinary pharmacies and clinics in Al Yasmeen area of Ajman in order to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, both local and federal.
The campaign was attended by His Excellency H.E. Marwan Abdullah Alzaabi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry for Regions Sector, who was joined by Dr. Eng. Khaled Moeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector at the Municipality Department.
During the site visit, H.E. Marwan Abdullah Alzaabi emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to the ongoing verification of compliance by veterinary pharmacies and clinics with the applicable laws in the UAE. This effort is part of a broader strategy to enhance livestock welfare and safeguard the health of various animals and birds in the market, ultimately contributing to community protection. He noted that the Ministry collaborates with local and relevant authorities across all emirates of the UAE to ensure adherence to established regulations within a cohesive operational framework.
H.E Alzaabi commended the Emirate of Ajman for prioritizing the health of its citizens and residents, highlighting the intensified efforts to ensure compliance with the specific regulations. He expressed appreciation for the Department and its teams, who conduct supervisory campaigns throughout the year, demonstrating a commitment to public safety.
Dr. Khaled Moeen Al Hosani elaborated on the Department’s comprehensive plan, which covers all veterinary and health facilities within the emirate and aims to implement regular control campaigns. He also acknowledges the facilities’ consistent adherence to the requirements for veterinary clinics and pharmacies, the provision of the requisite documentation associated with the veterinary practice license issued by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment for the veterinarians, the facility’s license from the Ministry, the contract for public pest control, the contract for safe disposal of veterinary materials, and the purchase invoices for veterinary products.
During the field visit, an inspection was conducted at the farmers market located in Al-Helio, which serves as a platform for agricultural project owners and specialists to offer their services to the beneficiary audience.
The visit also involved delivering recommendations to the facilities, which included limiting the use of veterinary pesticides, sourcing veterinary medicines from reputable suppliers, and ensuring the availability of documentation to verify these purchases. Additionally, it was advised that only veterinary medicines registered and licensed by the Ministry be circulated, along with the safe disposal of expired veterinary products through authorized companies, to be completed within three months from the expiration date.
