Within community Majlis framework, MPDA organizes “Ajman Agriculture Award 2025” session

The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) organized a dialogue session dubbed “Ajman Agriculture Award 2025”, at Al Wasl Majlis in the Emirate of Ajman, eyeing the presence of representatives of the Emirate’s authorities and departments, school students, entrepreneurs, and agricultural experts and specialists.

Mr. Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, Director of the Agriculture and Public Parks Department, welcomed the attendees, asserting that their keenness to attend and participate is the greatest incentive for the MPDA’s competencies to move on with progress in sustainability, raise greeneries spaces, and launch positive projects in various walks of life.

The MPDA set the session to reviewing the Ajman Agriculture Award, which over 16 years, has made myriads of hits as it was launched in one category represented by the best outdoor home garden, to continue its success this year with 9 categories including indoor, outdoor and productive home gardens, creators of agricultural initiatives, gardens of government agencies, mosques, school gardens, balconies, and hotels, Al Muhairi said, noting that the goal is to support and enable all efforts made to increase greeneries, stimulate community partnership to maintain environmental heritage and encourage local production, achieving the strategic goal of increasing the green cover and beautifying the Emirate’s facilities.

Al Muhairi reviewed a number of future agricultural projects tailored to providing gardens in residential neighborhoods in line with the government’s insightful directions, to raise the child happiness and life quality index.

The session reviewed successful experiences of agricultural nurseries that achieved self-sufficiency in fruits and vegetables, and also supported all segments of society to engage in agricultural initiatives for environment protection.

The session saw a review by the Mashagel Hydroponic Center and Umm Ammar Primary School, Cycle 1, of their agricultural products of leafy crops and fruit trees.

The session eyed great interaction by the attendees, as they shared their experiences and expertise in home agriculture, and voiced their desire to participate in the Award and contribute to future agricultural initiatives geared towards encouraging self-production at home, which embodies their commitment to preserving the environment and improving life quality in the Emirate.
