MPDA celebrates 53rd Union Day with launches themed “1971”

The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) celebrated the 53rd Union Day of the United Arab Emirates by organizing a national event at the MPDA’s headquarters that brought together heritage, present and future, and launching qualitative projects themed “1971”.

The celebration was sponsored and attended by His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the MPDA, His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the MPDA, and the executive directors and employees of the MPDA, who shared their pride and honor in the Union’s march that embodied the spirit of unity and accomplishment.

Launches themed “1971”
His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid launched four major initiatives and projects that embody the spirit of the Union and confirm its commitment to sustainability and development, including the launch of 1971 Street in Mohammed bin Zayed City, which connects the residential area of the city to Al-Tala Street in a dynamic area, to be a witness to the Union’s march.

The projects included planting 1971 new mangrove seedlings in the Emirate, to support environment and enhance sustainability, launching the Future Readiness Index 2071, which represents a roadmap for achieving excellence and leadership in the future, and disbursing 1971 hours of happiness for the MPDA’s employees, in appreciation of their efforts and in celebration of the occasion.

 

March of Achievement and Miracle
The ceremony began with a speech by the master of ceremonies, who emphasized pride in the immortal national occasion that narrates the journey of achievement and miracle.

The celebration included a documentary video, followed by a live artistic show of Al ‘azi Art, which reflected the spirit of the national heritage and highlighted the State’s identity.

The ceremony also saw a poetry show presented by the national poet Mohammed Al-Sharif, who expressed through his verses his loyalty and belonging to the homeland and its wise leadership. The shows went on with a distinct theatrical performance that took the audience on a journey through time to the moment of the founding of the Union in 1971, highlighting the journey of construction and sustainable development.

In a special show on sustainability, young farmer Sultan Al Khazaimi gave a presentation on sustainable agriculture and its role in protecting the environment and enhancing life quality, while emphasizing the importance of agriculture for current and future generations.

History of Pride and Honor
The MPDA affirmed its pride in national principles and values, expressing its commitment to continuing the path of construction and development, which represents a source of pride for every Emirati and resident in the State.
