The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) announced the winners of the 15th Ajman Agriculture Award 2024, which aims to support positive efforts in the agricultural field and encourage bright models to be an example everyone to continue the afforestation process and increase green spaces in the Emirate of Ajman.
His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the MPDA, stressed during the honoring ceremony held by the MPDA in Al Raqaib Forest Park, that agriculture is a way of life and a symbol of civilization and excellence, and the MPDA works hard, counting on its ambitious competencies to advance the Emirate of Ajman to be one of the most important green cities in the world. Work never stops to increase afforestation and its comprehensiveness in all areas of the emirate, His Excellency added.
His Excellency referred to the MPDA’s every-year keenness to organize the incentive award, worth AED 100,000, to encourage the government and private sectors, and all categories and society members to increase agricultural areas in the Emirate, spread a positive culture, and raise the level of environmental standards related to agriculture, adding that the award eyes a great turnout from residents, entities, and departments in each session, embodying the joint keenness to enhance the agricultural sector.
For his part, Mr. Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, the MPDA’s Director of the Agriculture and Public Parks Department, said that the award adopts the principle of inclusiveness for all categories, as it grants the opportunity to all home gardens, mosques, schools, all government agencies, owners of agricultural initiatives, and hotels in all areas of the Emirate, congratulating all the winners.
The award is in line with the objectives of the Emirates Plant Initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, to stimulate projects, initiatives, qualitative works, and institutional and community contributions in the agricultural field, Al Muhairi added.
The MPDA honored the winners of the indoor home garden category; Adel Abdul-Rahim Al Saeedi, Ibrahim Abdullah Al Mulla, Ahmed Hussein Murad Hassan, Ali Mohammed Saeed Ibrahim Al Shehhi, Rashid Hamid Al Ketbi, Saqr Al Matroushi, Ali Abdullah Ali Al Dhahouri, Yaqoub Hassan Ali Al Shehhi, Ahmed Abdullah Ali Rushoud Al Dhahouri, Abdullah Saif Salem Obaid Al Muhairi, Nasser Hassan Ali Rashid Al Dhahouri, Waleed Abdullah Al Dhahouri, and Najah Hamad Salem Abdullah Al Alili.
Amer Abdul-Rahim Abdullah Al Saeedi won the outdoor home garden category, and Safiya Abdul-Rashid Ghulam Al Balushi and Bindo Mateus received the Productive Homes Award.
