The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) announced the continuation of implementing Al Bahia promenade project with a length of 1000 metres and at a cost of one million dirham, in cooperation with Al Rasikhon Real Estate Company, in the presence of the company’s general manager, Mr. Khalifa bin Hareb Al Muhairi. This came during the MPDA’s participation in the 8th edition of the Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival, which brought together 350 palm owners, farmers, beekeepers and productive families, in addition to a number of official entities as exhibitors.
In this vein, His Excellency Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al Nuaimi, MPDA’s Director General, asserted that MPDA is eager to increase the green area and open various facilities that serve all residents and visitors of Ajman, and pays great attention to promoting and practicing sports and making it a lifestyle for everyone. Al Bahia promenade will meet the requirements of the residents of the region and provide an ideal place for jogging to be covered with a rubber layer under the highest international standards and specifications, he added.
The project goes in line with MPDA’s objectives and the requirements of the national agenda for the happiness promenades project, which has so far reached 27,000 meters, His Excellency said, adding that ensuring sustainability and achieving quality of life and community happiness are the most important goals that MPDA works to achieve, a matter which will bring positive results for everyone.
For his part, Mr. Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, Director of the Agriculture and Public Parks Department, gave a detailed explanation of the project that MPDA’s qualified competencies designed, planned and supervised its implementation since early March 2023, in cooperation with Al Rasikhon Real Estate Company, and with the support of MPDA’s nurseries, explaining that the promenade depends on an automatic irrigation system using recycled water.
Al Muhairi noted that the project will include 170 palm trees, beautifying plantings for the sides with 4,000 flowering bushes, and solar energy lighting. MPDA is also keen to promote recycling projects, and accordingly the promenade will include chairs made of waste bins. The project is scheduled to be fully completed by mid 2024, he noted.
