H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Chairman of Ajman Municipality & Planning Department, awarded the engineering consultancy and construction contracting firms and the most beautiful buildings in the Emirate of Ajman that are eligible to stars according to the global star rating system. This took place during the second forum organized by the Department with the presence of the entities operating in the field of architecture and construction.
The forum was attended by H.E. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, the Director-General of Ajman Municipality & Planning Department, their excellency the Department’s directors, and the representatives of contracting and engineering consultancy companies.
His Highness emphasized: “The star rating system has relied on clear standards and specific regulations for coping with the size of projects and the attainment of the indicators of the National Agenda. The Department believes in the importance of the development of the building and construction system in the Emirate of Ajman for increasing the added value in the urban sector.”
His Highness continued: “We have worked over the past period on the enhancement of positive competition amongst 64 engineering consultancy firms and 339 building contracting companies for the accomplishment of the best and the development of the services provided to citizens, with emphasis on high quality.”
His Highness said: “The stars are well-fit for the engineering consultancy companies and contracting firms that have performed an outstanding job and complied with the regulations and standards and which also intensified efforts and did their best to achieve harmony with the visions of the wise leadership and for the promotion of the Emirate in the field of construction and architecture. We have cared to encourage everyone who has contributed to the dissemination of urban beauty and therefore, we have awarded the most beautiful buildings in Ajman.”
In his role, Eng. Khalifa Abdullah Al Falasi, the Director of the Buildings Department, stated: “The Department has launched the rating program of consultancy firms and contracting companies, by the adoption of clear standards of quality control and for the promotion of the integrated system of the Emirate, for coping with the present and proceeding towards the upcoming future.”
Al Falasi continued: “The Department has launched several initiatives, including the most beautiful building initiative, as we have formed a specialized committee at the Buildings Department, consisting of specialized engineers of the Building Licensing Section and the Engineering Supervision & Control Section, for the adoption of criteria for the most beautiful building, which include attention to the ergonomic dimension in the provision of suitable spaces, the ease of movement, ventilation tracks, and the use of modern systems in design, in addition to visual coordination.”
The awarding ceremony involved the commencement of dialogue with the firms operating in the field of architecture and construction for receiving their opinions and suggestions and replying to their enquiries for improvement.
