1,160,060 linear meters of paved roads in Ajman by 2024

The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPSA) announced that the total length of paved roads in the Emirate totaled up 1,160,060 linear meters, according to the MPDA’s 2024 report.

 

In this connection, Dr. Eng. Mohammad Ahmad bin Omair Al Muhairi, the MPDA’s Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector asserted that the MPDA has set comprehensive plans to develop an integrated infrastructure,  noting that sustainable development in this vital sector is one of the most important strategic objectives to enhance the Emirate’s attractiveness and livability, achieve integrated and sustainable movement, facilitate access to desired areas, and improve the quality of road infrastructure.

 

Road development projects are being implemented under the highest international standards, specifications, and criteria to achieve traffic flow and ensure easier, optimal, and safer access to desired destinations, Bin Omair explained.

 

He added that the wise government gives the go-ahead to infrastructure development projects and provides continuous support, which has contributed to the development of road networks, cut short travel times, and provided the necessary expansion to keep pace with the volume of use around the clock.

 

City Attractive to All

For his part, Engineer Abdullah Mustafa Al Marzouqi, the MPDA’s Director of the Roads and Infrastructure Department, explained that the Emirate of Ajman is attractive to everyone to live in an ideal environment and is a destination for tourists and investors. Accordingly, the MPDA has worked to provide paved and equipped roads in all areas to facilitate transportation and quick and safe access to any desired destination.

 

Al Marzouqi added that the MPDA has short-, medium-, and long-term plans to develop roads and infrastructure. Work is underway to construct a number of new roads and develop some existing roads according to technical and economic requirements and the internal and external environment in Ajman and the cities of Masfoot and Manama.
