The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) honored the winners of the Masfout and Manama- The Most Beautiful Photo Competition, which it kicked off in unison with The Most Beautiful Winter In The World Campaign in its third edition, taking Ajman as took a venue to launch the promotional campaign for domestic tourism in the UAE.
During his honoring of the winners, Eng. Khaled Moeen Al-Hosani expressed his pride in the entries received by the Department to consolidate the status of Manama and Masfout, confirming their basic traditional, original, historic and modern positions. The photography competition was organized under the umbrella of The Most Beautiful Winter In The World Campaign MPDA in line with the states’ strategic initiative, in coordination between the various bodies and parties concerned with tourism, heritage and culture, he added.
For his part, Mr. Ibrahim Samra Al-Shehhi, Director of the Liaison and Community Department, spoke about the idea of the photography competition, which targeted all society groups, and backed up positive competition between photography professionals and amateurs, to take beautiful pictures of Masfout and Manama, and focus on the ancient landmarks and popular legacies and showcase the charming nature and distinctive identity and unique mark of the two cities.
MPDA announced the competition through its social networking websites, and eyed a great response and remarkable interest from the population, as it received 146 entries that included photos embodying distinct tourism experiences varying between nature, culture and entertainment, Al-Shehhi said, adding that the Department contacted photography experts and specialists to evaluate all entries. Six applicants were selected, with three winners for each category, including the Masfout city category and the Manama city category.
