The Building Materials Lab of the Municipality and Planning Department- Ajman (MPDA) has issued 30,264 reports, according to statistics issued by MPDA for the first half of this year 2023
In this connection, Eng. Khalid Moeen Al-Hosani, MPDA’s Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, asserted that the , confirmed that the Lab provides services to the customers who come to examine samples of basic materials used in construction and engineering projects, so as to ensure the achievement of the strategic goal of developing an integrated infrastructure.
Al-Hosani said that the number of reports issued by the Lab eyed an increase compared to the same period of the past two years. In 2022, it issued 27,895 reports, while issued 24,005 reports during the first half of 2021. The urban boom and construction development along with the ideal facilitated services provided in the Lab contribute to achieving the increase, he noted.
The Lab is on the path of complete smart transformation to transform the services provided into services accessible by the customer anytime, anywhere. The Lab provides two basic services; examining and matching building materials with specifications and on-site survey service. It also includes several labs; the chemistry lab, the soil lab, the iron lab, the asphalt lab, the gravel lab and the precast concrete products lab.
It is worth mentioning that the Lab examines and controls the quality of materials used in construction and ensures their compliance with the required standard specifications, geared towards achieving the sustainability of buildings and ensuring that they meet the requirements and expectations of customers.
