MPDA, Hikvision sign MoU to consolidate smart cities cooperation

The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) and Hikvision LLC signed a Memorandum of Understanding to consolidate joint cooperation and enhance partnership relations, to achieve the goals of the wise directives of the state in general and the Emirate of Ajman in particular in the areas concerning both parties and the role of each of them and their contribution in the Emirate’s technological development, to implement the Smart Cities Program.

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the MPDA, and Mr. Song Wu, Regional Director of Hikvision, in the presence of myriad officials from both parties.

In this connection, His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi asserted that the MPDA supports all leading entities and institutions in the smart sector. The MPDA will work in accordance with the “Smart Cities Program” to develop a smart digital infrastructure strategy to build and provide integrated and sustainable urban communities geared towards enhancing the quality of life in the Emirate of Ajman, improving government services, enhancing accessibility, achieving sustainability, and speeding up economic development, His Excellency noted.

For his part, Mr. Song Wu voiced Hikvision’s pride in signing the MoU to enhance cooperation in scientific and technical research, achieving the aspirations of the wise leadership, noting that the partnership is an important step for achieving a future vision that enhances innovation and sustainable development in the Emirate. We seek to build bridges of cooperation and open horizons for mutual work to achieve leadership in developing and setting standards for smart cities.

The MoU includes supporting smart city projects, remote control systems, the Internet of Things, developing smart applications, developing plans for smart city initiatives, and enhancing the AI use in various sectors and fields.
