Emergency teams, supporting teams, and “Ghaith” team of Ajman Municipality & Planning Department, continued their hard work on handling the emergencies arising from the weather instabilities and rainfalls throughout all the areas of Ajman Emirate, amidst the weather condition being witnessed by the UAE, which is expected to subsist until Wednesday, 17 April 2024.
H.E. Abdul-Rahman Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, the Department’s Director-General, confirmed, during his inspection of field work progress: “The Department is aiming to maintain the safety of the residents and visitors of the Emirate, and to ensure convenient and safe access to the desired destinations in a record time.”, while he applauded the efforts of 15 field teams that have been working unstoppably since the first hours of the weather condition for the immediate resolution of reports and ensuring access to the identified locations.
His Excellency said: “The Department is adopting an integrated proactive system of readiness for potential weather instabilities, aiming to increase the competency and speed of response of all field emergency teams to enhance the full readiness thereof. An annual plan has been prepared for handling the rainfall season and emergencies, including the formation of field teams, the provision of pumps, the supply of the latest technologies, the instantaneous follow-up of the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), ensuring rain drainage at all areas, and the rapid and immediate response for proactively handling emergencies and reports upon the occurrence thereof, competently and all around the clock.”
His Excellency was accompanied, in his inspection, by Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al-Muhairi, the Executive Director of the Department’s Infrastructure Development Sector, and Eng. Abdullah Mustafa Al-Marzooqi, the Director of the Department’s Road & Infrastructure Management Department, and a number of officials and heads of field teams.
65 Allocated Pumps
From his side, Eng. Abdullah Mustafa gave a detailed explanation to His Excellency on the Department’s proactive readiness, which included the provision of 28 pumping stations and 65 pumps allocated throughout the Emirate, whilst applauding the efforts of 16 engineers and specialists and 173 personnel who are present in the field for direct follow-up.
The Department called upon the populace and visitors of the Emirate to immediately report emergencies and to communicate via the several channels and hotline 80070, while it wished full safety for everybody.
