The value of construction contracts in the Emirate of Ajman exceeds 2.1 billion dirhams, report says

The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman announced that “construction contracts value in the Emirate exceeded 2.1 billion dirhams”  according to the reports issued in the first half of the current year of 2022 ,indicating that the contracts witnessed growth compared to the same period of the past two years, where 800 million dirhams were recorded in 2020, while the value of construction amounted to one billion and 900 million dirhams in 2021, according to a report issued the Department on the first half of the current year.

In this regard, His Excellency Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Municipality Department, explained that “the Emirate of Ajman has assumed a prominent position on the list of cities that attract visitors, tourists, and investors, and has become an ideal city of living in which provides all the elements of comfortable life, by providing an ideal environment that includes comprehensive and integrated services compatible with all segments and categories, and meet the requirements and correspond to different tastes and trends in line with the strategic goal of sustainable development of the construction sector.

His Excellency said that “the rate of increase in the value of construction contracts recorded 11% compared to the past two years which proves the confidence of residents and project owners in the Emirate, which ensures the continuity of projects, expansion of their scope and achievement of the desired goals”, referring to “the Department’s ranking first in the Arab world for the period needed for issuing building permits”.

His Excellency stated that “the qualified competencies in the department could develop smart systems and applications to facilitate the customers affairs, enabling those wishing to build and construct to complete their transactions within a record time”.

“The existing linkage with the partners in the construction journey contributed to alleviating the customer’s efforts, and gave him the opportunity to follow up directly and know all the stages, in addition to the qualitative initiatives that provided clear guidelines and methodology for facilitation” his Excellency added.

For his part, Engineer Khalifa Abdullah Al Falasi, Director of Buildings Department, explained that “the number of building permits recorded an increase during the first half of the current year 2022 at 2376, while the number of building permits recorded 2187 in last year, and the Department accomplished 1659 building permits in the same period of 2020″ .
