Ajman Municipality and Planning Department exempts Senior citizens from paying for parking

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Head of the Department of Municipality and Planning, and in conjunction with the International Day of Older Persons, the Department announced granting permits to senior citizens of the State over the age of 60 years to use the emirate's parking lots free of charge.

His Excellency, Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Head of Municipality and Planning Department, said that the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman supports and adopts all humanitarian initiatives which are concerned with the community segments and facilitate for them.

The Head of Municipality and Planning Department stressed that Paid Parking lots Roads and Infrastructure Department will take over the initiative and will communicate directly with the elderly people to inform them of the necessary conditions and requirements for the issuance of free cards for them, indicating that the applicant must provide the required documents and supporting documents to enable the Parking Section to check them to expedite the issuance of a senior citizen card.

Al-Naimi said that the issuance of free senior citizen parking cards is due to start in the fourth quarter of this year, adding that the permits are valid for one year, renewable.
Al Nuaimi pointed out that the aim of the initiative is to provide easy and accessible services to the public of clients, especially the elderly, so as to raise their satisfaction indicator and create a smile on their faces helping them to take advantage of the parking lots with ease, granting them priority and attention.
